Effective Teaching for Rural Rehabilitation
A Co-operation Project (2010-2111) between China Disabled Persons Federation and Hong Kong Society for Rehabilitation
Sponsored by the Kadoorie Charitable Foundation.
Course Aims:
1. To understand the fundamental knowledge and significance of CBR for the lives of people with disability, their families and communities
2. To grasp the key issues and working methods to facilitate and maintain CBR
3. To consider some key interventions including rehabilitation therapy, environmental adaptations and increased awareness and support from the community.
In this course, a young county-level DPF staff, Xiao Li, asks us to consider some key issues in CBR, as she meets the people of Wang Ji Village. Each week considers a new topic: stakeholders, families, awareness and attitudes, group activities, training and the CBR Matrix.
We hope you will enjoy the stories and also share with Xiao Li your ideas to solve some of the challenges, as well as your own stories. If everyone participates, we will help each other, share both our problems and successes, as well as deepen our understanding of CBR.
Each week you will receive an email from Xiao Li, which we expect you to answer. And each week there is a small assignment and also some interesting discussion questions. For those students who complete the course, we will send you a certificate and donate a CBR poster.
We also welcome ideas for new topics for courses.
